For the seventh straight year, October is Dining Month on OnMilwaukee.com, presented by the restaurants of Potawatomi. All month, we're stuffed with restaurant reviews, delectable features, chef profiles and unique articles on everything food, as well as the winners of our "Best of Dining 2013."

When Terra Restaurant relocated from National Avenue to its new location at 600 S. 6th St., I thought it was a smart move. I always like that window-filled space a lot, particularly when it was Pedrano’s. (After Pedrano’s, it was briefly Kafe Kultura.)

The owners of Terra put a lot of TLC into the space, transforming it into a larger version of the nature-inspired environment they had in the old place. They also created a really nice, green patio.

But Terra’s real strength is the diversity of the menu which offers traditional Mexican favorites, lesser-known Latin items like moyetes (toasted bolillos topped with beans, cheese and avocado), burgers and, best of all, breakfast items including a large selection of pancakes, omelettes and more.

There are simply not enough breakfast options in Walker’s Point – The National is definitely the sweet spot of the local breakfast scene – so the addition of morning food items on the menu is really filling a neighborhood need.

And my veggie fajitas were very good, too.
