This week, Milwaukee Downtown, Business Improvement District 21, is celebrating all of you who work Downtown.

The sixth annual Downtown Employee Appreciation Week kicked off this afternoon at Red Arrow Park, where Mayor Tom Barrett took part in a ceremony that featured live music, games, giveaways and free lunch.

Throughout the week, office-themed challenges are scheduled each day, from 11:45 a.m. until 1:15 p.m. at the park, located on the east side of Water Street between State Street and Kilbourn Avenue.

Other planned activities include a Bradford Beach volleyball tournament, "The World's Largest Coffee Break" and "Downtown's Grandest Happy Hour."

In addition, many Downtown businesses are offering discounts and freebies to Downtown employees, who are encouraged to wear a paper clip on themselves to show they work Downtown.
