Hawks' Smith: "Nothing to do in Milwaukee"
Josh Smith needs a little help.
The Atlanta Hawks' shooting guard will be in Milwaukee this weekend to face the Bucks in Game 3 of a first-round playoff series ... and the poor fella doesn't know what he'll do with himself.
Smith told Hawks' beat writer Michael Cunningham -- a former Journal Sentinel writer -- that he might grab a bite at Ruth's Chris Steakhouse (which doesn't have a Milwaukee location) before waxing poetic about the Brew City.
"There's pretty much nothing to do," Smith told Cunningham. "Miami has some really good restaurants. I never really did anything in Milwaukee. I would be happy to just find a restaurant. I'm not bashing the city but I've never actually did anything in Milwaukee so I really don't know what is around there."Â
He wasn't done.
"Would you go there?" Smith asked. "Everybody knows there ain't nothing to do in Milwaukee, man. Everybody knows that, (even) the people that live there."Â
With some time before Game 3 gets underway (Saturday night at 6 p.m.), perhaps OnMilwaukee.com readers can help Mr. Smith out with some suggestions.
In the meantime, let me suggest he take a peek at this visitors guide we put together during the NCAA Tournament stop in Milwaukee last month, or weekly Weekend Preview (which comes out tomorrow morning) or downloading the OnMilwaukee.com iPhone App. He can brush up on all the city has to offer.
If you want to help Mr. Smith pass the time, post your suggestions below.

"the guy from Cleveland"...seriously? Anyways, so if you dont watch the NBA and obviously know nothing about basketball, how do you know they are criminals?!?!

Never heard of a NHL player pulling a hand gun on a team member in a locker room. And what's Jayson Williams up to lately? NBA = CRIMINALS. Shut down the league and lock them all up.

I've been watching the Stanley Cup Playoffs and really enjoying them , so I'd love an NHL team. That's what the Bradley Center was built for, hockey, back in the 80's but the buy-in for a franchise was too much for the Bradley-Petits and we settled on the Admirals being a minor league franchise.
As far as I'm concerned with "J-Smoove". Using the grammar he did it's safe to say the Art Museum, Symphony, Stage, etc won't entice him. Maybe he just hasn't found the right nightclub. :) But criminal? And then calling all NBA'ers criminals? Come on.

Intheview-I dont agree with Smith's comment either, not the first time Ive heard that from someone either, but arent you overreacting just a bit?! You obviously dont whatch basketball, as i believe he was an all star this year and to label all of them criminals. Yeah, im sure there is non of those in the pure sport of Hockey!!
