If you're looking for something different for your golf game and don't want to pay an arm and a leg, here's a way to play some of the state's best courses.

Until May 9, you can bid in an online auction to play at a number of state courses, both public and private as part of the Wisconsin Golf Course Superintendents Association's inaugural Play A Round (PAR) 4 Research golf auction.

In addition to golf rounds, you can also place a bid on tickets for the 2010 PGA Championship at Whistling Straits.

Proceeds from the auction will go to support turfgrass and environmental research at the University of Wisconsin.
