New bars, especially in heritage bar districts like Water Street, come and go. Some carve out a niche and last a while, others barely go through their first order of half-barrels before shutting the doors.

Bar None, 1139 N. Water St., looks like it might stick around. With a visible location, cozy size and inexpensive nightly specials, owners Amy Bladow and Josh Jiru have established the little bar as a Water Street contender.

Menu: The usual suspects: Miller and Bud products, with local favorites like Sprecher, Lakefront and other popular micros. Bladow is a fan of whiskey, so you'll find good deals on Jameson on any given night.

Price: Depending on the night of the week, you could probably pull a $20 from your wallet and be good for a while.

When to go: It's a pretty small space, so you'll need to get there early if you want to watch a game. Otherwise, it's a good spot to start and / or end your night.

Dress: Casual. The after-work crowd, students and "beautiful people" of Milwaukee mix and blend perfectly.

Don't miss: "Bucket of 'crap'" night, every Tuesday. For just $5, get a bucket of five retro beers.

Parking: It's Water Street, so parking is always an issue -- especially on event nights and weekends. Still, there's plenty of options nearby.
