Get your $5 State Fair tickets
Since I've pretty much given up hope that German Fest will ever become more than a cartoonish stereotype of German culture, the State Fair has become my favorite festival/fair/event of the summer.
I'll be there everyday thanks to my regular summer tradition of playing the role of Gentleman Farmer for two weeks, but if you're planning on going for a cream puff, ear of corn or a trip down the slide, now's the time to get your tickets.
Through June 30, you can get single-day, adult admission tickets for just $5. Tickets can be purchased online at WiStateFair.com or at participating Wisconsin Pick 'N Save and Copps Food Centers or at the State Fair Park Box Office.
The 2011 Wisconsin State Fair runs August 4-14 at State Fair Park.
