Sometimes, even with huge flat screens at home, things just look better on the big screen. Marcus Theatres has taken that feeling to heart with the Theatre Entertainment Network.
"Special programming – such as live events, classical music, opera, ballet, theater, even classic movies – is much more impactful when presented on the big screen in a theater venue. There is also a large, under-served audience very interested in seeing these kind of events," said Rolando Rodriguez, president and CEO of Marcus Theatres Corporation.
"While we’ve offered alternate entertainment for years, establishing the Theatre Entertainment Network allows us to significantly increase the number of non-traditional entertainment options and provide a truly eclectic array of entertainment options on the big screen available to our guests."
The programs offered include concerts, opera performances, indie films, comedy showcases and classic or cult-favorite movies. One screen at each of the participating theaters is set aside for alternative programs, ones that are not the normal rotation of national releases. You can find all of the offerings online at theatreentertainmentnetwork.com.
Area theaters are: Majestic Cinema, Brookfield; Menomonee Falls Cinema, Menomonee Falls; Renaissance Cinema, Sturtevant; Saukville Cinema, Saukville; South Shore Cinema, Oak Creek; North Shore Cinema, Mequon; Hillside Cinema, Delafield; Cedar Creek Cinema, Rothschild; and Ridge Cinema, New Berlin.
