WMYX-FM (99.1) made the expected flip to all-Christmas music at 7 p.m. Friday, two weeks later than last year's Halloween flip of two Milwaukee radio stations. As usual, it re-dubbed itself "The Christmas Mix."
While the regular station will be playing holiday tunes until New Year's, an on-line feed will play the station's regular music.
So far, WRIT-FM (95.7)), which also went all-Christmas last years, is still playing its normal '70s and '80s music.
UPDATE: WRIT-FM has gone all-Christmas as well.
When I turned on my radio and heard Christmas music on 95.7, I blurted out an expletive and promptly changed the station. I won't go back until after New Years. I hope these stations get killed in the ratings this year.
I'm surprised they didn't start immediately after Halloween like they did last year! This year they decided to wait a little bit.. For me, it's complete overkill - they should wait until the day after Thanksgiving at least. I like most Christmas songs but hearing them a million times over & over just kills the holiday spirit!
Hey John, for a guy who sounds quite religious, I'm surprised you need Christmas music 6 weeks before Christmas to remind you of Jesus' birth.
