I've never been a big fan of the character of Nick Fury-that is, to say, I've never been a fan of him until the Ultimates series came out and Nick Fury went from a generic gruff white old dude in white gloves and a white belt to a bad-ass drawn to look like Samuel L. Jackson. Old Nick Fury always... Posted by Rev.Ron_MovieReviews at 6:00 p.m. | Talkbacks Category: Movies & TV |

Dr. Strange is one of those Marvel properties that seems to be able to make a decent movie all by itself-meaning, the comic character could possibly, and even literally, yank himself free of the pages and direct and star in his own film. The character is interesting and it involves magic and myst... Posted by Rev.Ron_MovieReviews at 5:55 p.m. | Talkbacks Category: Movies & TV |

You would think it would be easy to make a Punisher film. Frank Castle's back story is filled with trauma and drama (hey, that rhymes!) and the rest of it is just him seeking revenge with his only rule being kill those bleepers in such a way that the very concept of "extreme prejudice" ... When I first saw the trailer for this film, I thought it was composed of deleted scenes and/or abandoned script ideas for an Expendables movie. The gist I got from the trailer was that Arnold Schwarzenegger is too old for this stuff but, despite his age, arthritic knees and bad back, he could sti... Let's not waste time arguing whether or not Al Pacino, Christopher Walken and Alan Arkin are great actors or not because we all know they are (and if we did argue, it would just be embarrassing for the both of us). Sure they have done their fair share of crappy films but how can one argue with Ar... Posted by Rev.Ron_MovieReviews at 12:43 p.m. | Talkbacks Category: Movies & TV |

Is it possible to make an entire horror film with only two horror flick clichés? The Woman in Black proves you can.Daniel Radcliffe is Arthur Kipps, a widowed lawyer in London who is given one last chance with his job when he is sent to a small, "out on yonder" village, specifica... This was my first time seeing this 1991 comedy from comedian Bobcat Goldthwait. A friend of mine and a fan of my reviews (yes, believe it or not, people enjoy my reviews-I pay them good money to like them) asked me to give this one a shot. I will ALWAYS take a request for the blog (then he offere... Posted by Rev.Ron_MovieReviews at 7:03 p.m. | Talkbacks Category: Movies & TV |

I've never been a big fan of The Texas Chainsaw Massacre-the original, I mean. I hold far less esteem for the remake and that prequel that looks more like a remake than a prequel. However, I don't outright hate the film; I actually appreciate its existence but, for the most part, I think it's a ... Posted by Rev.Ron_MovieReviews at 6:29 a.m. | Talkbacks Category: Movies & TV |

Based on the novel by David Mitchell, Cloud Atlas is quite possibly one of the most ambitious films I have ever seen in my life. Brought to you by three directors (a feat almost completely unheard of in the world of cinema), the film is unlike anything I've ever witnessed but does that make it a ... I really love bad movies. The lower the budget and more ridiculous premise the better. If you throw in some awful acting and bad special effects (and those are just a given) then you have the icing on a really bad B-movie cheesefest that doesn't disappoint-unless you are expecting something good,...
