Stone Creek Coffee Aquires Rival Starbucks
According to the New York Times web site, Stone Creek Coffee located in Milwaukee, WI has purchased a controlling interest in Starbucks Coffee, Seattle, WA. According to Stone Creek Coffee CEO, Eric Resch, the acquisition was successful due in part to a depressed share price for Starbucks but also the strategic plan put forth by his executive team. Resch said, “…while we have the utmost respect for Howard (Schultz) and his team at Starbucks we felt it was time for new leadership. Howard has been a force in our industry for many years but we simply feel Starbucks has not saturated the market adequately…..we can bring that to the table.” Resch would not comment whether he would be moving the headquarters to Milwaukee but did state at the end of his press conference, “I am not crazy about rain.” Stay tuned. It's one of the fastest growing sports in America...and we mean FAST! Today, Stone Creek Coffee is pleased to announce that we have teamed up with Nascar team owner Andrew DeWeerdt to sponsor the #16 race car! "The decision to sponsor the team just made sense," says Executive Manager of Sales and Marketing, Steve Hawthorne, "Nascar fans are very brand loyal, and we want to be a part of that." As part of the sponsorship deal, Stone Creek Coffee Tech, Tom Wanderer has been named as the car's driver. "Well, fixing espresso bars if fun and all, but speed is my thing," said Wanderer. Fellow Coffee Tech Jason Dama has agreed to be Wanderer's Crew Chief. "We're in it to win it!" commented Dama. The Stone Creek Car will make it's Nascar debut at the Samsung 500 on April 6 at the Texas Motor Speedway. When asked how he felt about the competition and the risks involved with driving a racecar, driver Tom Wanderer replied, "I no longer fear death...every lap I take brings me closer to that race track in the sky. Oh...and Jeff Gordon better watch his rearview...I'm gunnin' for him!"
