The 40 Days and 40 Nights of 40: Day 8

Labor Day has come and gone, and our next holiday isn’t until Thanksgiving in November, when it will be “officially” fall.  Where’s did the time go?

On the up side, time does go by so very quickly as you get older.  I’m certain that Thanksgiving will feel like it’s here in no time - just like it felt as summer flew by us all.  Where does the time go?

I think that’s one of the things that makes people “feel” old, the perception of time; the proverbial “time keeps slipping away.”  And it does feel that way.  I truly cannot believe that today is September 8th.  And, I’ve never heard a good explanation as to why time feels or seems to accelerate as you get older.  Remember when you were a child and summer seemed to last forever, especially when you wanted to go back-to-school shopping?  Or waiting for Christmas to arrive for presents and holiday vacation?  You could stare at the calendar for hours in your youth.  It’s not that way anymore.

Maybe it’s because our days are filled with so much more than they were when we were kids?

Mind you, blogging for forty days is making these next forty days seem like forever, but I’m sure in retrospect it will seem like a flash.  As it is, the big day is only one week from Saturday.

I know time is “relative,” but it’s all we’ve got.  Use it well, starting with today!

Cheers!
