My husband is alway uber quick to tell others where to eat - which always weirds me out a little (sorry, love!). (He also goes into really specific detail about the meal he's had and its components, which also weirds me out because I usually just remember a general, "I loved it!" or "UGH! Gross!" -but I digress...)
It's not so much that I don't like disclosing my opinion, but moreso that I've been burned by some bum referrals in my dining life and prefer to spare others' tummies as well as my reputation in the event that something goes awry after I've opened my mouth.
That said, I just had one of the most ridiculously delectible meals of my life and I'm inclined to sing its praises (via internet...I'm taking baby-steps)!
Le Reve...oh, how I can't stop thinking about the awesomeness of your Tarte de Champignons (mushroom tart w/ leeks, shirred egg, & saxony cheese)! Paul is begging me to make a Tarte de Canard (duck breast sliced over chevre tart, orange and grilled onion viniagrette) like I'm magic or something - seriously?
We began our meal by drooling over our dining companions' shared Coquille St. Jacques crepe (scallops, leeks, saxon cheese with thyme beurre blanc), which they had as an appetizer, even as we indulged in Crevette Provencales (grilled shrimp with marinated olives, served with rustic bread).
They stuck with sandwiches for dinner, and although I'm typically not a red meat eater, I found myself craving the Filet de Boeuf (tenderloin with cambazola cheese, carmelized onion, and black pepper aoli). This sandwich totally awakened the carnevor in me, and will be the driving force in my return (soon!) for a lunch there!
I won't go into detail about my experience with their dessertS (yes- I couldn't pick just one), but suffice to say, I know that their perfect little french macaroons (the pistachio-make sure to try the pistachio.) won't disappoint (unless you're allergic to awesomeness! or to nuts I guess...).
