hirst and Vine recently opened in Shorewood and is definitely being welcomed by the locals. I have made several trips in there and I have not been disappointed. They have an extensive wine menu and a “wine lady”, Jenna that has enough knowledge of wine in her back pocket to blow your mind.  On top of providing an amazing wine selection and tastings for you to enjoy they have a daily changing food menu that pairs very well with their wine offerings.

On my last visit I had the pleasure of trying their Gourmet Mac & Cheese (for the 2nd time) and the level of cheese and flavor were just amazing. You can taste the various cheeses and the combination of melted cheeses and perfectly cooked macaroni noodles will make you question why you have been relying on Kraft all these years. This is truly a homemade dish you should order the next time you are in the Shorewood area!

Not only does Mac & Cheese come prepared perfectly Thirst & Vine puts out a darn good pizza too! I ordered the Cinqua Terraconsisting of all fresh ingredients including tomato, pesto, fresh mozzarella and parmesan. You can add Nueske’s Bacon, Salami Toscana or Mushroom for a small charge. And in a move that will surprise no one, I added bacon without giving it a second thought.

The pizza is prepared on homemade pizza dough and the final product comes out delicious and not like a regular pizza. It has large pieces of fresh tomato, the smell of pesto is pleasing and the crust is definitely not one that you will recognize like anything you’ve ever had before.

Thirst & Vine seems to have hit the mark in Shorewood and I welcome them and their homemade menu with open arms. I will be there often trying out various changing foods and learning tons from Jenna.
