Gallardo Goes Deep
Yovani Gallardo hit his 3rd Home Run of the season and seventh of his career with a deep shot to left in the 3rd inning against the Astros. This puts him with as many HRs as guys such as Yadier Molina, Bengie Molina, Nate McLouth, and Orlando Cabrera. He is ahead of the likes of Garrett Anderson, Todd Helton, and Ryan Church. On the season Yovani is hitting a HR every 12.3 AB. That’s higher than any everyday player in the entire league (Konerko is tops at 12.5, Hart 13.9) Gallardo has tied the immortal Brooks Kieschnick for most HRs in a single season by a Brewers pitcher. These numbers really don’t mean anything, but if we end up sellers at the trade deadline we could always just plug in Yovani out in the field in between his starts just to get him more ABs. Just an idea
