Some final individual stat lines for a couple of the Bucks in tonights 95-91 loss at New Orleans will look good:
Andrew Bogut - 15 points, 15 rebounds
Brandon Jennings - 15 points, 10 assists
Corey Maggette - 16 points, 7 rebounds
Drew Gooden - 15 points, 11 rebounds
Carlos Delfino - 19 points, 5-of-10 3pt shooting
On the surface you wonder why they lost, but the reason is simple - they couldn't put the ball in the basket often enough.
As a team, the Bucks were 33-for-77 from the field and a godawful 17-for-28 froom the free throw line.
Now - I'm happy to see that many free throw attempts - but you've got shoot better than 61%. You have to. Without Maggette (8-for-8) they would've shot 45% from the line. That right there is how you lose this game.
The struggles were somewhat expected with so many new players and the fact that several of the Bucks were limited in pre-season with injury - but it's a little frustrating in that New Orleans is not very good at basketball.
In all, I was impressed with what I did see at times. I like Maggette off the bench - it's the best spot for him though you expect Salmons to be better.
I liked the effort Bogut and Gooden put forth on the boards (26 total rebounds).
I was happy to see Bogut play as well - and perhaps more importantly - as much as he did. That bodes well going forward.
