15lbs...3weeks, Day 5

Do you have fun working out? Are you doing something you enjoy? If you do not enjoy it you will not stick with it. No matter what you choose to do to be healthy and stay fit you need to find something you enjoy. Join a softball, volleyball, basketball league. Gyms are a great way to socialize with people of similar interest. They also allow you to change up your workout. Some people are intimidated by gyms, if you are one of them try bootcamp classes or yoga, join a dance class, find a set of workout videos you like or find some online, go for brisk walks and bike rides with your family. What ever you choose to do, just get moving and keep moving. Be careful of the all or nothing attitude. You may feel you don’t have time to do the entire workout you want to do, but get started and do as much as you have time for. No workout is too short. Studies have shown positive results with 15 minute bouts of exercise done throughout the day. 

This morning’s workout was a brazilian dance workout done in my living room. It was quick, free and fun.

Later in the afternoon I hit the gym for a leg workout:

4sets of 15 reps

  1. 1/2 front squats (this squat puts the focus more on the quad rather than the hamstrings)
  2. Single leg glute extensions
  3. Sumo Hack Squat
  4. Seated Leg extension
  5. Prone Leg Curl

Finished with some abdominal exercises and 20 minutes on the stair stepper.


Today’s meal’s were:

  1. 1/4 cup oatmeal, almonds, 1/3 banana, Whey Protein Shake
  2. 4oz chicken, 1/4 cup wild rice
  3. Whey protein shake
  4. 4oz chicken, 1/4 cup wild rice
  5. 4oz chicken, 1cup broccoli
  6. Casein shake, 12 almonds
