TUF 12 Runner-Up Michael Johnson to Headline NAFC "Mayhem"
By:Paul Fladten/WI Combat Sports

April 2, 2011 (Milwaukee, WI USA) Keeping with tradition, the upcoming North American Fighting Championship (NAFC) MMA cage fighting event "Mayhem" in May will feature a notable national fighter against a local Wisconsinite in the main event. And while last season's "The Ultimate Fighter" runner-up Michael Johnson will serve as the outsider, his opponent has yet to be determined.

NAFC promoter Scott Joffe has informed US Combat Sports that Johnson, who is still under contract with the Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC), has been granted permission to compete on the "Mayhem" card May 6th at the Potawatomi Bingo Casino Expo Center in Milwaukee.

Training out of the Springfield Fight Club in Missouri, Johnson owns a record of 8-5 and recently made a name for himself on TUF 12: Team GSP vs. Team Koscheck. Johnson defeated Aaron Wilkinson, Alex Caceres and Nam Phan to advance to the finale, but ultimately suffered a unanimous decision loss at the hands of Jonathan Brookins.

Set to return to action for the first time since his loss to Brookins, "The Menace" is still unsure as to which Lightweight Wisconsin fighter will stand opposite him of the cage. Joffe urges any of the state's interested Lightweights to contact him for the opportunity.

Also scheduled to take place at NAFC "Mayhem" will be a Bantamweight battle between Fox Valley Grappling Club's Matt Brown and WEC veteran John Hosman. Brown recently ended a two-fight losing streak with a picture-perfect performance against Floyd Hodges in November, while Hosman looks to rebound from a recent loss to Roufusport Fight Club's Chico Camus.

"Mayhem" seating is "in the round" and features a superb Las Vegas style sound & light show that blew the crowd away last November 24th at NAFC's Thanksgiving eve debut show "Bad Blood."

Potawatomi pulls out all of the stops as it showcases high-end mixed martial arts May 6th in their modern new Expo Center. For a great night out, nothing beats LIVE pro MMA in the cage!

Don't miss the state's top MMA fighters fighting on the state's top MMA show up close and in your face!
