Jeff Coffin & the Mu'tet heat up Jazz in the Park

Despite the blustery 50 degree weather on Thursday evening, Jazz in the Park drew an exceptionally large crowd.
Jeff Coffin & the Mu’tet engaged the anxious attendants within seconds of starting their first set. The three-time Grammy winner, Coffin, along with his fellow band members, showcased a New Orleans-style fused with funk and other genres that made it impossible to stand still. Jeff & the Mu’tet have been touring with Dave Matthews Band since 2008 and Bela Fleck & the Flecktones since 2007.
As always, Stone’s Throw provided bottles of wine at a reasonable price of $11 for everyone to enjoy while being mesmerized by the amazing performance. Though it hasn’t been the best weather for this season so far, looking out across the families and friends appropriately adorned under blankets and wearing obscene amounts of plaid, enjoying every note, I thought to myself, "This is what Milwaukee is all about."
Jazz in the Park runs from 6 to 9 p.m. each Thursday night at Cathedral Square Park through September.
