Match Preview Milwaukee Wave v. Missouri Comets

By Brandon Arendt
Rivals clash for the third time this season when the Milwaukee Wave play host to the Missouri Comets at the US Cellular Arena at 7:00 PM. Milwaukee is looking to extend their division lead over their Central Division rivals. All the while Missouri will be looking to simultaneously extend their lead over Wichita and draw closer to Milwaukee in the mid-season standings.
After losing three of their last four matches the Comets will come into this one hungry for a win. Missouri is coming into this match with a record of 8-6 and are in desperate need of a victory if they are expecting to catch up to the Milwaukee Wave. Unfortunately for the Comets matches with the Wave haven't been too kind to them this season, losing twice to the defending champions. However, with the impending addition of former Sporting Kansas City midfielder, Craig Rocastle, the Comets will end up with what could be the most versatile attack in the Major Indoor Soccer League (MISL).
Milwaukee is coming off of their first loss of the season. If the Wave don't want a repeat of last week they will need to look to their "regular" contributors. Players like Ian Bennett, Guiliano Oliviero and Marco Terminesi will absolutely have to find their form for this match. After their loss to Baltimore last week the real question becomes: "Will that loss affect the mindset of Milwaukee?" Hopefully for Wave fans confidence won't be an issue.
Key to the Game:
A lot of times when two teams with dynamic attacking styles like these meet, it is the team that can manage a better defensive stand that will find victory.
