Turner Hall 4 March: VNV Nation and Straftanz

4299-vnvnationpromoshot

VNV Nation will be appearing with Straftanz at Milwaukee's Turner Hall Ballroom on Sunday, 4 March.

The electronic music-producing duo VNV Nation, made up of Irish Ronan Harris and English Mark Jackson, are
well-known for numerous industrial/ebm club hits such as "Darkangel" from their 1999 album "Empires" and "Chrome" off of 2005's "Matter and Form".  Currently signed to Metropolis Records and their own (recently-founded ) label, Anachron
Sounds, they've been included on numerous compilations released by labels including Metropolis as well as Cleopatra, Wax Trax!, TVT (which declared bankruptcy in 2008 after purchasing Wax Trax! Records in 1992), and Invisible (Chicago-based
label founded by Martin Atkins, well-known for his drumming ability and membership in bands including Killing Joke and Pigface, which he also founded; Invisible lists on its roster musicians including Chemlab; Chris Connelly;  Killing Joke; Lab Report; More Machine Than Man; Murder, Inc.; Pigface; and Throbbing Gristle).

Supporting act Straftanz, whose music is self-described as' industrial streetfighting dance', 'post gothic
modernism', and 'obscure German technoculture', or just industrial pop or powerful EBM, is comprised of 3 members from west Deutschland.  Rumored to be a sideproject of Rotersand  ( a futurepop threesome made up of two producers,
Gun and Krischan and singer Rascal), this band was established in 2006.  The musicians go by assumed names:  j-ing, k-x, -jl- and cyberdominator.  Receiving a great deal of attention (by the media as well as the public) in their homeland of Germany, this will be their third time touring with VNV (first having been in 2009 on VNV's "Faith
Power and Glory" tour, and the second in 2011 on VNV's "Automatic" tour).

The bands have been invited to an after-party, as are you, at Club Anything, 807 S. 5th Street.
