Calling all past students and friends of Shorewood High School in Shorewood, WI!  Just spreading the word that you are invited to a special day on the front lawn and in the auditorium on Saturday, July 14, 2012.

This year’s fourth annual All-Class Alumni Reunion and Community Picnic is Saturday, July 14, 2012, from 11 a.m. to 2:30 p.m., on the front lawn of Shorewood High School, 1701 E. Capitol Drive. It is open to all interested community members as well as graduates of Shorewood High School from all classes.  The event will include music, fun, and activities for children of all ages.  Food and beverages (including beer) will be available for purchase under the big tent, rain or shine.  There will be tours of the rooftop copperdome, bowling alley, and the ever-popular underground tunnels (more twists and turns than ever this year; flashlights provided).  A silent auction will include actual pices of the SHS Auditorium stage floor.  This will be the community’s first chance to meet and greet the new superintendent, Martin Lexmond, who starts his new position on July 1, 2012.

Featuring -- A Tribute Performance for retiring Drama Director and Teacher Barbara Gensler, from 3 to 5:30 p.m., in the Auditorium. Advance tickets are highly recommended for this once-in-a-lifetime tribute to “Mrs. G.,” performed by alumni stars from around the world.

This show promises to be an amazing celebration.  More than 40 alumni from the 1960s, ’70s, ’80s, ’90s and 2000s are coming together from across the country and around the world to put on a show honoring the woman who influenced them all for 47 years –longtime SHS Director Barbara Gensler.  Performers include Richard Gustin, Peter Hammond, Sherri Hutten, Nancy Kaufman, Jeff Mullen, Patti Breitbach Rashid, Michael Stein, and Tracy Weiser.

Proceeds will kick off an SHS tribute fund in Mrs. Gensler's name at the school.  Tickets are available online at www.shorewoodalumni.org under the Tribute tab.

The SHS Alumni Association is also compiling a tribute book for Barbara Gensler, which is open to anyone wishing to submit a message to her.  The form and online registration have options for this book.

A light reception will be held in the tent on the front following the performance.

Pre-registration for both events is recommended, available online at www.shorewoodalumni.org or via mail-in registration.  Forms are available on the website, per request at shorewoodalumni@gmail.com, or locally at Shorewood High School’s main office, the Shorewood Library, and the Shorewood Village Hall.  Purchase tickets and/or make additional donations here: www.shorewoodalumni.org.

Ticketed Alumni and community will be listed on the website at shorewoodalumni.org.
