Today was a exciting time to be a child. Between the hype surrounding the Spelling Bee (which I completely missed) and my first viewing of 'Are You Smarter Than A 5th Grader?' I am...well...humbled. I know most kids are smart, some surprisingly so, but today really hit that point home. Not only are the kids I saw today very smart but also ooze charisma, maturity and calm under pressure. With the pressures of studying, then remembering with the whole world watching, not to mention mass amounts of money in the balance is no small feat for anyone. The children today made it seem like childsplay and thats saying something. Today's children are such shining examples of opportunity, and after witnessing the great accomplishments that they can achieve I only pray that every child has the same chance to shine and we as a society do everything we can to support them. Not because we can or are required to but because the child deserves to and society wants to nurture them. Wake up world the future is knocking.
