Hey Milwaukee you missed A great night
I just happened into a place call StoneFly Friday night and much to my surprise there were a couple of Awesome bands playing there, the thing that was sad was the lack of patrons. There was a duo called The Marvins a Husband and wife group from Michigan. They played wonderful and sang harmony like they had been together for years. Peter LeClair and Carmen Paradise just made the stage their own with their kind of Quirky fun style that just made me smile inside (If you know what I mean). Their Talent shined as they appeared to be just having a good time despite the lack of people in the venue. I really kind of felt embarassed for the City of Milwaukee for not having a better turn out for these fantastic Musicians. The songs were their own and they were fun to watch, they won me over as one of their latest new fans. If you ever get the chance to see this group live you won't be disappointed.
The Second Band that had performed was called the Steve Leaf Trio...All I can say is WOW Tremendous sound from three extremely Talented Musicians. The lead singer Steven Leaf rocks out with his bare feet and his soulful guitar playing. The Bass player was just "On it" and then we come to the Drummer.....Dare I say it OMG! I have not seen nor heard a more talented complex drummer in years, this guy was unbelievable, Both of these bands deserved a better venue out of Milwaukee no doubt.
I was blown away, but I do regret missing the opening act in Tiffany Hull, very Beautiful Woman, but we didn't get the chance to catch her set, I am betting my loss. Otherwise a great night out on the Town in the Riverwest Neighborhood. For those of you who missed this tasty ear treat, so sorry you weren't there.
