Reader submitted blog 91 Buy fresh homemade sausage at Groppis in Bay View
We accidently found Groppi's in Bay View when we were on our way to Palomino.  It's actually just across the street (1441 S. Russell Ave.)  Groppi's was a cool little Italian grocery store that had a lot of specialty items you might not find at your average Pick 'n Save.  And ...

Reader submitted blog 28 Cozy up to a pint of the black stuff at Paddys Pub
Hidden just around the corner from all the oft-visited North Avenue bars is Paddy’s Irish Pub.  Jen and I went there after leaving the museum for some much needed rest.   We were told this was a better place to go during the summer because of the beautiful outdoor beer garden...

Reader submitted blog 95 Make the snake rattle at the Milwaukee Public Museum
You might say you haven't lived in Milwaukee until you've made the snake rattle.  It's one of my earliest memories.  So you can imagine my shock and disbelief when I realized that (take a deep breath) the rattle button is no longer part of the "indians chasing buffalos" exhibi...

Reader submitted blog 87 Have a cheap and tasty Conejito's burrito
After a long day at the dog park and The Spice House, Jen and I went to Conejito's (539 W Virginia St.) to get some Mexican food.  This place kind of blew my mind when we walked in.  It's small, dark, crowded and loud... something you might expect to find right across the Mexican border...

Reader submitted blog 47 -- Stock up on sage and coriander seeds at The Spice House
After the dog park we decided to head over to The Spice House to knock off number 47.  I have to admit to not being very excited about this one.  I don't cook much, and therefore have very little use for spices.  Jen, however, is a great cook and I do enjoy eating, so it all work...

Reader submitted blog 49 Take Rover to a dog park for a run
On Saturday morning Jen and I headed over to Granville Dog Park (107th and Good Hope) with her dog, Peyton.  My dog isn't allowed to go to dog parks anymore for reasons I cannot disclose.  Jen had been there many times before but neither of us realized until we got there that Granv...

Reader submitted blog 12 Enjoy the spinach and artichoke dip at Cafe Vecchio Mondo
Last night we braved the weather and went to Cafe Vecchio (1137 N. Old World Third St.) for the spinach and artichoke dip. It was about 5 degrees and snowing when we left. Vecchio has an inviting, yet upscale, candle-lit atmosphere. Jen and I were the only patrons in the cafe for the entire durat...

Reader submitted blog 66 Nosh on cheese sticks at Sazs
Jen and I went to Saz's (5539 W. State St.) on Tuesday night for cheese sticks, number 66 on the list.  I'm pretty sure Saz's is more well known for their barbecue, but the cheese sticks were good too.  The breading is sort of like an egg roll which we found interesting.  We also g...

Reader submitted blog 18 Make use of Milwaukees largest urinal at Leffs Lucky Town
After the Packers beat the Seahawks in the NFC divisional championship game, Jen and I headed to Leff's Lucky Town in the village of Wauwatosa to celebrate with Hacker-Pschorrs and chicken wings.  We are both seasoned veterans of this establishment so it was nothing new, but it was a great o...

Reader submitted blog 71 Find unimaginable treasures at American Science and Surplus
After knocking 3 things off the list in an about an hour, we got ambitious and went for one more.  We headed over to 69th and Oklahoma to American Science and Surplus to find some unimaginable treasures.  I had been here before on many occasions but this was Jen's first visit.  ASS...

Reader poll
Will you stop drinking Miller beers now that MillerCoors has announced it will move to Chicago?
Yes, I'm no longer loyal to the brand.
No, Miller beer will still be made in Milwaukee.
I didn't drink it before, and I won't drink it after.
I'm not sure yet, but of all places, did they have to move to Chicago?
At least they won't be based in Dallas or Denver.
