FIBville, U.S.A.

Think of this blog as a running Public Service Announcement, offering the kind of wisdom that can only come from a place where the drivers go faster than 70 mph, the women weigh less than 170 lbs., the denizens have a little pigmentation and the thirsty drink something heftier than Miller Genuine Draft.

The FIBs love Wisconsin -- hell, we own half of Door County -- so this is all meant in good fun. Actually, I think of myself as an honorary Milwaukeean, having spent many fruitful nights at places from the Palm Tavern to the Eastsider. I even attended a "hobo rave" in some Mad Max like industrial area. But we shall never speak of it again. I think most FIBs share my warm thoughts about Milwaukee and not in that condescending "it ain't half bad" kinda way.

So I am happy to join OMC's "cyber" community with this "blog" that I will compose on my "computer." This blog's inspiration comes from Larry King's rambling USA Today-like columns, where no topic is too trite and no observation too inane for the Suspendered One. So without further ado...

Whitefish Bay, hello!

Fantasy football is a foul habit that will make one spend sleepless nights over the health of Noah Herron...You can't top a carnitas burrito at 3 a.m., beats a pizza slice every time...Is it weird that they replaced James Brown on Fox Sports with another beefy Afro-American?....Just tried a Captain-and-Seven for the first time last weekend. Tasty drink...How great would it be if Balco Barry Bonds broke Hank Aaron's record as a Brewer?...Is there ANYONE who gets the NFL Network?...Miller keeping Chicago microbrew fave Bell's off the market. Chalk one up to Cream City...I hear West Town a happening neighborhood these days...Shouldn't Lacrosse Oktoberfest pass out complimentary life preservers?....Ingle Martin? Seriously?....Check out Resi's Bierstube on Chicago's North Side for German food and a jillion Deutsche beers...Man, those IPods are getting small....I wish Zubaz pants would come back in style.
