Chicago Slaughter 64, Milwaukee Bonecrushers 41 (Friday March 21st)

What a weekend! Sorry this is a late message but last week along with the weekend was nuts. Lots to talk about so here we go:

The home opener... well first things first, Chicago came in and beat the Bonecrushers 64-41. The Slaughter needed to prove a point in this league and they made their statement. It's a disappointment on our end, but these guys are still learning the indoor game. Also, there has been a trophy created for this rivalry to makes things even more interesting, called 'The battle on I-94'. Chicago is the first to hold that in possession and we look to take it away from them on April 19th. Anyways, I think the first game is always tough. You're excited and got some jitters, which is normal especially for some that have never played at this level before. This was Chicago's second game, and after losing at home they needed to gain their reputation back as a top team in this league. The stats speak for themselves and this game wasn't as close as the score looks. These guys need to settle down and get their heads right, because this team has too much talent to go 0-2.

Speaking of statistics, that is one of my many jobs for this organization. With that said, I submit the official stats to the league from all Bonecrushers home games, and will also post Bonecrusher stats on TheBoneHedz.com. I'll be adding up the yearly stats as each game passes and will post the box score after each game.

My photographer wasn't able to come on Friday because of the weather. By the way, what is going on with this damn Wisconsin weather?! The Bonecrushers have had some bad luck with weather so far with Family Day having the mix of rain/snow/winds all day and Friday's home opener saw an estimate of 8-12 inches of snow. I believe around 2,700 tickets were sold and about 1,900 showed up. The crowd was great, a reason why I love Milwaukee. The Brewers, Admirals, college bball, Buc.... well not so much the Bucks, and now the Bonecrushers have some of the best crowds and fans in professional sports. I saw 4 guys with their chests painted up in the Black/White/Purple and one of them had "Bone Hedz" on his belly! LOVED IT! I want to see more at every home game. With that said, if you have any pictures from Friday Night, PLEASE send them to tophed@thebonehedz.com

For all you people that wanted to know about the radio/TV situation. Again sorry for this being late... We have a radio broadcast deal with 1250 WSSP. All 12 games will be played live, unless it conflicts with other WSSP broadcasts, then it will be 'tape delayed'. These games can still be heard from the Teamline link streamed live or downloaded. Doug Pettit and WSSP's Gary Ellerson are the broadcasters for each game. Also, each home game will be 'tape delayed' on Time Warner Sports channel 32. They will use the feed which the U.S. Cellular Arena shoots during the game with the sound of Doug and Gary's broadcast. The tape delayed times vary so you'll have to check the Time Warner Sports schedule or contact both Time Warner and WSSP about when they will be played.

The Bonecrushers have one game under their belts and a sour taste in their mouths. It's time to stand up again and do battle this Saturday at the U.S. Cellular Arena against the 1-1 Muskegon Thunder. It looks like decent weather, so I expect lots of people there wearing their colors proud. Let me know all the BoneHedz that are out there!!
