Young Professionals Week Kickoff at Cafe Hollander
‘Biking In Milwaukee’ Lunch N Learn at Cafe Hollander. A part of Young Professionals Week. The Bicycle Federation of Wisconsin, MKEBKE, and NEWaukee hosted a Lunch N Learn on MONDAY, APRIL 16th at Cafe Hollander as a kick off to Transit Day, the first day of the week-long Young Professional Week event. The YP Week event was organized by NEWaukee and is dedicated to showcasing and celebrating Milwaukee’s Young Professional organizations. Presentations, discussions, and literature on biking in Milwaukee were provided by organizations including the Bicycle Federation of Wisconsin, Flavor Cycles, MKEBKE, Milwaukee Bicycle Collective, The Park People, Truly Spoken Cycles, UPAF Ride For The Arts, and special guest Senator Chris Larson. Participants learned about the opportunities offered by each group, discussed cycling questions, safe riding practices, and other initiatives. Not Pictured: Jason McDowell of the Milwaukee Bicycle Collective, OnMilwaukee.com and Truly Spoken Cycles, who spoke on how Milwaukee city streets are actively working against anyone outside a car.
