Ghostbusters: The Video Game
(Monday, June 15, 2009)
Yup, play it with a jumpsuit on. What's supposed to fill in as the third movie in the beloved Ghostbusters franchise, the game sticks you two years after the what happened in Ghostbusters II. It's 1991, and paranormal happenings continue to run amok, and the title boys must expand their elite club — enter you. The rookie. You're geeking out, testing Egon's latest Proton Pack modifications. Meanwhile, an army of ghouls are on the prowl all across Manhattan, and you and the rest of your bros have got some exterminatin' to do. Because who else are we gonna call, right? The game itself is gorgeous. The original soundtrack lingers throughout the experience, and original Busters, Bill Murray, Dan Aykroyd, Harold Ramis and Ernie Hudson, periodically reveal one-liners that are smirk-worthy. Then, there's Alyssa Milano, lending her purr to Dr. Ilyssa Selwyn, a love interest for Venkman. We highly urge that you waste your summer away on your ass playing God — or, er, a Ghostbuster.
LAST FRIDAY'S DO-IT: Sam Rockwell kinda loses it on the Moon!
