Dodd finds sobriety and a marathon to be a perfect pair
As a runner and an alcoholic, Richard Dodd knows from excruciating experience what it's like to hit the wall, and to hit bottom. Sober for five years, he has an evangelical zeal for both running and sobriety, a perfect match for his new job as the race director of the Adrenaline Marathon on the Eisenbahn Trail, a race in West Bend organized by the Council on Alcohol and Other Drug Abuse of Washington County.

Masterful performances make "The Master" worth watching
As the credits rolled on "The Master" and I sat back to contemplate what I had absorbed over the two-ish hours it spent on the screen, I got a weird sense of deja vu. It didn't take long before I realized the ambivalence I had for "The Master" was almost identical to the ambivalence I felt after watching director Paul Thomas Anderson's other much-buzzed about work, "There Will Be Blood."

Friday Scorecard: The Madness draws near
The UWM Panthers are a victory away from a Horizon League championship. Marquette bolstered its postseason resume with a big upset at No. 15 UConn. Wisconsin is rolling. The Marquette women are flying high. Yup, it's getting to be that time of year ... bring on March.

Packers-Bears hype overshadows recent history
The national media is fawning over the NFC Championship game, pitting the Packers against the Bears but in recent years, the rivalry -- though still heated -- has lost much of its competitive significance.
