Blueberries cooks up a new kind of Racine breakfast
Greasy, high-fat meals are an occasional treat, but certainly not the way to start your day on a regular basis. This is where Blueberries, a new breakfast, brunch and lunch restaurant at 522 6th St. in downtown Racine, fills a void. Owner Lauren Bell opened her small, cash-only café in summer 2008 as a refreshing alternative to the city's usual players.

Make a day out of a holiday-themed meal and enjoy time visiting the Zoo! Families can share a breakfast or lunch with Santa and enjoy tasty treats, a live sing-a-long and even an appearance by Mrs. Claus! Afterward, stay and enjoy the Zoo and see winter animals like the Amur tigers and polar bears. 

Breakfast is served at 9 a.m. on Saturdays only, and lunch is at noon on both Saturdays and Sundays. Each meal, held in the Zoo’s Peck Welcome Center, includes a visit from Santa, a gift for each child and admission to the Zoo. All seats are reserved, and registration is limited. Tickets are $13 per child or adult, children 2 and under are $5 and parking is $10. Zoological Society memberships are not valid for this event. Enjoy breakfast with Santa and a fun day out at the zoo! Kids ages 3 to 10 and an accompanying parent will enjoy a family style breakfast, holiday craft activity, a special visit with Santa and more. The first session runs from 9 to 10:15 a.m., and the second from 10:30 to 11:45 a.m. Admission is $10 for one child and one adult member admission or $15 for one child and one regular adult admission.
