The group, Preserve Our Parks, engaged in a campaign to halt construction of the proposed Couture project, a 44-story building that will add to life at the lakefront. The group is using ancient constitutional provisions to try and stop the project.

Celebrating its 35th anniversary, Milwaukee Irish Fest is pulling out all the stops for this year's festival, offering the widest selection of Irish and Celtic music to date. Taking place Aug. 13 - 16 along Milwaukee's lakefront, the festival will honor tradition with some of the biggest and brightest stars, as well as previously undiscovered new artists.

Bradford Beach in the wintertime
As much as I do enjoy other people, there are times I also love to be where they are not. One of these times was last winter - Milwaukee's coldest in about three decades - when I had reached my threshold for football and "Real Housewives" and living with 50 other people in one building, went down the hill, and took a walk on Bradford Beach along Lake Michigan. It was the most restorative thing I had done in a long time.

Urban spelunking: Lincoln Memorial Bridge & Water Tower Monument
Tens of thousands of folks came out to see the 1926 dedication of the new Lincoln Memorial Bridge and Drive. Fifty years later, the bridge was crumbling and was soon replaced. But a few bits of it remain today on Milwaukee's East Side.
