Longtime Veterans Park paddleboat vendor loses contract
Tim and Val Ritter report that, after 16 years, they have lost their contract with the Milwaukee Parks Department. They have to dismantle their shed and remove all equipment by April 18. Juneau Park Paddleboats will be replaced at the lagoon by California-based Wheel Fun Rentals, a franchise which operates close to 100 locations around the country.

Monday, April 1 is Opening Day in Milwaukee. While the future of Brewers baseball begins at Miller Park at 1:10 p.m. as the Rockies roll into town, over on the lakefront a new exhibit at Discovery World casts a view back at the history of America's pastime.

Lauren and Steve Schulz, the owners of Milwaukee's Purple Door Ice Cream, wanted to partner with Great Lakes Distillery for a while. Recently, they did and created a whiskey ice cream made with Great Lakes' Kinnickinnic Whiskey.

Bo still knows Summerfest
Bo Black, who was once featured on a Playboy cover in the 1960s, was the attractive blonde Summerfest executive director with rabid fans and critics alike who made the woman called "Bo" one of Milwaukee's most interesting figures for more than two decades.
