Tonic Tavern looks to build on solid KK bar scene
When musician Paul Jonas opens The Tonic Tavern on April 1, there's a good chance he won't have to build his customer base from scratch. Kinnickinnic Ave., will be enough of a draw, he's plugging his new venture at every sold-out 5-Card Studs show from here on out -- just in case.

Chief celebrates a new EP with a CD release gig Friday, Jan. 23 at Frank's Power Plant in Bay View.

Play Freebird: Why cover bands are so popular in Milwaukee
These days, you can't toss a fried eggplant strip at a street festival without hitting a cover band. Why is this? Milwaukee's most popular cover bands speculate why they're so dang popular in Brew City.

If you could choose, would you prefer December or March to stay warm and snowless in Milwaukee?
December. I'm not ready for winter yet.
March. By then, I need winter to be over.
There's no use complaining or hoping for better weather in Wisconsin.
Actually, I like snow.
