Milwaukee is and has been home to a plethora of amazing musicians so it isn't easy to identify the best of the best. However, when the Social Circle was posed with the question this week, they came up with a diverse array of past and present Brew City talent.

Usually, when you see The 5 Card Studs, the band is the evening's sole entertainment. But that's not the case this weekend, when the Studs not only share the stage, but alternate sets with Radio Radio on Saturday, Nov. 5 at the Bay View Brewhaus.

It's been two years since we caught up with Milwaukee's own rawk rawyalty, namely Chief - a band I like to compare to Thin Lizzy but which frontman Chris Tishler has likened to Van Halen, UFO and Judas Priest. The media silence is mostly because the trio - comprising hard working Brew City music scene stalwarts Dave Benton on bass, Matt Liban on drums and singer and guitarist Tishler - has been on hiatus, keeping itself silent, too.

Summerfest is known as The Big Gig for a reason. To local cover bands, a slot at JoJo's Martini Lounge is a highlight of the summer festival season. Here is the lineup for JoJo's. Summerfest runs from June 24 to July 4.
