Residents in the West Side neighborhoods of Lenox Heights. Enderis Park and Enderis East have learned that there is a proposal to transform three adjacent, vacant properties on the 6600 block of West Lisbon Avenue into the sustainable Lisbon Food Village, an urban farming and food co-op.
The state Department of Transportation took its road show to the Common Council last week briefing Milwaukee officials on its plan to redo the Zoo interchange. DOT says it is the busiest interchange in the state and needs some help in moving vehicles along. They offered a new road term called the "Texas U-turn." But it didn't get a warm reception.
Bill Stace will expand his entertainment empire to the South Side. Stace will host shows at the Modjeska Theatre on Mitchell Street after he gets a liquor license from the Common Council. The Licenses Committee gave its approval last week.
Looks like we got an official response from Milwaukee aldermen after the RiverSplash ruckus. To control the sale of alcohol some aldermen propose that booze sales be limited to one per person at a time during street festivals.
