An employee at the neighboring Palermo Villa confirmed that The Dogs Bollocks, 2321 N. Murray Ave., is indeed closed for good. The English-style pub and restaurant has black paper on the windows and the phone is disconnected.

British pub and grill The Dogs Bollocks is set to open at 4 p.m. on Friday, April 17, according to a sign (or should I say a placard?) in the window at 2321 N. Murray Ave.

Tony Wright, owner of Shorewood's BritInn, is adding a touch more British flavor to the East Side. Wright plans to open The Dogs Bollocks in the space formerly occupied by Elliot's Bistro, 2321 N. Murray Ave., in April.

To the average American, the difference between pub quizzes and bar trivia is inconsequential; but to British-born British Pub Quiz quizmaster Ryan Wickens, we're talking two totally different ballgames. When Wickens moved to Milwaukee at age 18 to attend Cardinal Stritch University, he started tending bar at the BritInn. It was there that he launched his live-host bar trivia service, British Pub Quiz.
