Jazz drummer Sam Belton has long since nurtured his love of coffee in Milwaukee. After dreaming about it for a while, Belton opened his City.Net Cafe in the Enderis Park neighborhood in 2004. Though that location is closed, Belton - who also sells coffee in the County Courthouse - is in his second week of business in East Town, where he's set up his latest jazz- and caffeine-fueled City.Net in the former Dunkin' Donuts at 306 E. Wisconsin Ave.

Anodyne Coffee Roasting Co., currently at 2920 S. Kinnickinnnic Ave., in Bay View, plans to move its roasting facility and open a second cafe in Walker's Point.

It could be said that Richard Koenings went from squirrels to elephants. After all, Koenings, the former co-owner of Buddy Squirrel, LLC, is opening a new business soon called Red Elephant Chocolate. The "chocolate cafe," located in the Third Ward at 333 N. Broadway, will open in two phases.
