The Exotics surf back with the "Lost Album"
The Milwaukee air must have been ripe with the scent of salt water back in 1994, because when surf rock revivalist The Exotics emerged that year, the band was an instant hit. Ten years after releasing its debut disc, the reunited quartet returns with the release of "Lost Album."

The Jet Set lands in Milwaukee
The Jet Set has landed in Milwaukee, having flown the coop in Peoria, Ill., where the band was formed. Lead singer and guitarist Adam Widener and drummer Joel Kopp, a Brew City native, moved to Bay View in May.

The Nelsonics try a new twist: words
After The Nelsonics' all-instrumental self-titled debut -- recently reissued by Portland, Ore.-based Hammond Beat -- drummer and group namesake Don Nelson says band members wanted to mix things up a bit. Eight of the 12 songs on the new CD, "Ruins of Rome," feature vocals.

The Exotics reignite the tiki torch of surf guitar
For a few years, beginning in 1994, The Exotics were the Milwaukee band to see on a Saturday night. Now, the quartet ends a five-year silence with a gig Saturday night at Mad Planet. We talked to guitarist Paul Wall.
