The good news for Pixar is that DreamWorks' "Madagascar 3: Europe's Most Wanted" isn't going to change the status quo. It never reaches any depth whatsoever, and the story gets predictably familiar as it goes along. However, "Madagascar 3" isn't trying to reach those levels; it's attempting to be bouncy, jubilant fun, and by those standards, the film succeeds.

"Burn" is a black comedy about, for all intents and purposes, an ill-fated collision of otherwise unassociated idiots and while the cast does demonstrate the downfalls of their flaws with brilliant and hilarious exaggeration, you can't help but cringe, continuously, at their quirky caricatures.

Frances McDormand is talented and can seemingly pull off just about anything. If you needed proof of that, witness "Miss Pettigrew Lives for a Day," a nod to the classic glitzy showgirl flicks of Hollywood past.
