"Heroes" request musical devotion from disciples
It's hard to believe that it's nearly 15 years since War Child assembled the "Help" compilation, which had some brilliant moments. War Child -- an organization that aids kids affected by war -- now dishes up an, arguably, even better record in "Heroes" (Astralwerks), which takes a bass-ackward approach to the covers album.

Milwaukee seems to get more great concerts than ever these days and despite what people think and say, there is no shortage of good venues here, from Shank to the Pabst to Cactus and The Rave and beyond.

Here comes Franz
Franz Ferdinand is energized as ever as it heads out on a six-month tour that takes the dapper dudes across Europe with a brief jaunt to the States this spring. After a spot at Coachella Music Festival, the band heads to Milwaukee to play at The Eagles Ballroom on Wednesday, April 29 at 8 p.m.
