They say time flies when you're having fun. I don't know who "they" are (probably those terrifyingly upbeat "glass half full" people), but they nailed it. My 2012 is a blur of exciting times and memorable moments, most of which my lawyers have advised me not to discuss in detail. There's still plenty to talk about, though, and I've shared the highlights below.

Ok, maybe it's the other way around. But we were both there at the same time, in the same tour group - it's all about perspective, right? Anyway, it was my first trip to the Milwaukee Art Museum and it couldn't have been a better experience.

Happily, there's more to Gotye than meets the eye ... or ear, rather, at least in the case of his inescapable radio hit. He's a dynamic performer, and his show Saturday night was a triumph of musical sensibility, technology and good old-fashioned know-how.

Back when Milwaukee's Don't Records had a full stable of local bands of all kinds (disclaimer: including mine), Alex Ballard and Sugarfoot was one of the most promising. Nearly 20 years later, the group is working on a new record and plays Shank Hall this week.

Just after 5:30 p.m., internet sensation Walk Off The Earth brought its many musical talents to U.S. Cellular Connection Stage as part of the Emerging Artist series. And, judging from their energy and showmanship, they'll be hitting the mainstream sooner rather than later.
