Ragani enlightens and charms fans with her recently released second CD, "Ancient Spirit." The collection features six yoga chants or kirtan songs -- a style of chanting that originated in East India and is one of the world's oldest forms of spiritual music.

Dave Stringer was hired to edit films on an Indian ashram where he practiced kirtan, call-and-response mantra chanting. Today, he has his own "electric" style and is known as the leader of the modern kirtan movement. He performs twice this month in Milwaukee.

Kirtan is a style of chanting originating in East India and one of the world's oldest forms of spiritual music. According to Ragani, who started the East Side Kirtan Ensemble, Milwaukee has an impressive kirtan appreciation.
