Last week, Tim Sheehy of the Metropolitan Milwaukee Association of Commerce suggested extending the Miller Park sales tax as a way to finance a future renovation or replacement of the Bradley Center. The 0.1 percent tax, established in 1996, is still a delicate subject in the five-county area where it is in effect. Extending it to build a new facility for the Bucks makes sense on the surface but it is the wrong solution.

There's no crying in basketball, and our Milwaukee Bucks aren't weeping into the NBA All Star break. In fact, even with three starters out for pretty much the rest of the season, the team is digging deep, playing well and still poised for a playoff run.

Times have changed for our hometown NBA team and the Bucks have a window of opportunity to regain their prominence on the Wisconsin sports radar. It's time to show the Bucks the love.

The Bucks have experienced tough times this season and the temptation to clean house is strong. The courageous thing to do, though, is stay the course.

Most of us already grumble about additional charges tacked onto ticket prices, and now, Bradley Center events will include one more fee. What do you think about that?
