Low turnout doesn't dampen domestic partners' spirits
Monday was the first day that same-sex Wisconsin couples could apply for a "declaration of domestic partnership," and although only about 20 couples registered, West Milwaukee's Denise Cawley and Anne Hefter were happy to spend part of their day at the Milwaukee County Courthouse.

Miltown Kings rule the gender-bending world
The world of performance art is a boundless planet, and one that welcomes citizen artists from all walks of life. Take, for example, The Miltown Kings, Milwaukee's drag-oriented theater troupe. "This gang of gender benders consists of kings, queens, femmes and everything in between," says member Leo Long.

Sound-off: Are gay-friendly schools necessary?
Recently, public school officials in Chicago requested approval for a "gay-friendly" high school because so many LGBT students miss or quit high school to avoid harassment and / or violence. Milwaukee already has a school that provides a safe environment for gay students. Is this a good idea?
