Lava Bar and Grill ditches food for tunes, goes Live
North Avenue's Lava Bar and Grill is reinventing itself. After a slight hiatus, it will reopen Friday as Live -- a bar and music venue. The Mathew Haeffel Band plays at 9:30 p.m.

Lava bar works through "loophole" to increase capacity, avoid tickets
Many Milwaukee bar owners have received tickets in recent months for surpassing their legal capacity. But Josh Krish of Lava Bar and Grill found a way to increase his bar's capacity to avoid such a scene.

Watch for Lava's flow on North Ave. bar scene this spring
Formerly The Globe at 2028 E. North Ave., The Lava Lounge will transform the former music venue into a soothing, intimate restaurant/bar happening. Despite the name, there will be no lava lamps.
