With the Lenten fish fry over at Le Reve, a new season brings another change at the Tosa French bistro. On Monday, the restaurant launched a new happy hour tapas menu that is available Monday through Saturday, from 3 until 5 p.m.
With Lent now in full swing, it seems every restaurant in town is hyping its fish fry or offering one especially for the season. Among the latter is is Le Reve, 7610 Harwood Ave., in Tosa Village, returns a traditional fish fry to its menu every Lent. This year it's back, offering beer-battered Atlantic cod with pommes frites, caraway rye bread, coleslaw and house-made tartar sauce.
Today is Ash Wednesday, the first day of Lent. You don't have to be observant of any religion to rejoice at the explosion of fish fries around town for the next 40 days.
Our annual "Best of" survey maybe designed to highlight the best and the brightest that our city's culinary choices have to offer, but that doesn't mean we don't have any love for the 'burbs. In this question, we asked our readers to chime in on their favorite restaurant outside of the city limits.
