In one moment, Brandon Jennings was "Brandon Jennings, basketball player," meeting a fan for a Bucks Summerfest experience. The next, he sat there anxiously waiting to meet Lupe Fiasco, and was thrilled when the rapper put his jersey on during the show. Tim Dillard and Tom Crabtree have tens of thousands of fans cheering for them every Brewers and Packers home game, but Dave Grohl and the Foo Fighters had their voices hoarse. Music is the great connector, and Summerfest does it best.

You couldn't ask for more as a music fan, as the live band and Lupe Fiasco's vocals were sharp. His lyrics will make you think, but he proved that even thoughtful songs - and fans - can bring the house down.

I may be new to Milwaukee, but not to Summerfest. This is the sixth straight year I'll be attending the music showcase, and here is what I'm looking forward to in 2012.
