Hall of Famer Hank Aaron, in town to speak at Marquette University's commencement ceremony on Sunday, took some time to chat with OnMilwaukee.com about how he almost wasn't Marquette's keynote speaker, the city he called home for 14 years, and whether or not Major League Baseball commissioner Bud Selig was hurt by what happened with Ryan Braun this past winter.

For some, Marquette University's Sweet 16 exit from the NCAA Tournament at the hands of Florida was a disappointment. For others, it ended a very successful season that will lead to greater accomplishments next year. It should be an interesting off-season for Golden Eagles basketball.

There's a lot in a name sometimes. Other times it's what is not named that is surprising. Take photographer Tina Barnes' work, for example. The nearly two dozen portraits in "The Europeans: Photographs by Tina Barney," which is on display now through May 20 at the Haggerty Museum of Art, are fairly straightfoward portraiture. Constantly underrated and lacking blue-chip star power, what Buzz Williams has built at Marquette has been nothing short of remarkable. That the Golden Eagles have been steadily rising as one of the top programs in the nation despite losing such stars as Jerel McNeal, Wesley Matthews, Lazar Hayward, and Jimmy Butler to graduation is mind-boggling.
