We may be caught up in Dining Month, but we haven't forgotten how to steer you toward things that we think are cool. This week in the editorial office, we're recommending a delicious dessert from Outpost Natural Foods, a great baking device, some hearty whiskey, a good new breakfast spot and a do-it-yourself way to check out groceries.

Super Bowl Sunday a feeding frenzy
Super Bowl Sunday has become as much a holiday as Thanksgiving and New Year's. And while the game itself is still the centerpiece, what's being served is becoming just as popular as the commercials.

Know your onion! And your tomato, lettuce, etc.
One of the biggest issues concerning the green movement is the source of food. The lesson to take away from this? Eat locally, as much as is possible.

Some Scallywags, a Skinny House, and Some Really Bad Art in Boston
I love all things that are different and unique.  Give me wacky, send me some quirky, and I can always use a little eccentricity.  I’m not originally from here but what made me fall in love with Milwaukee so quickly from the beginning were all the little things that are exclusiv...

Metro Market Needs to Reassess Sense of "Self"
I live downtown and the Metro Market is my grocery of choice. The store is wonderful: from the produce selection, the glorious meat and seafood counters and the meticulous upkeep of shelves and displays. But I have one gripe. When Metro Market installed the Self-Checkouts last yea...
