Brush up on your McCartney this week, Milwaukee

With a return by Paul McCartney on tap this summer at Miller Park, the arrival of "Rockshow," is well-timed. The film, which screens at the Bayshore iPic at 8 p.m. on Thursday, May 16, and at 2 p.m. on Sunday, May 19, was filmed on the same 1975-76 U.S. tour that led to Paul McCartney & Wings' triple-live album, "Wings Over America."

Helfaer hosts baseball skills competition for kids

The Pitch, Hit & Run competition is a free event that provides youngsters an opportunity to participate in a baseball skills competition at Helfaer Field, the same location as the former Milwaukee County Stadium playing field. The competition is May 19.

We boo because we care

Do something great and we adore our heroes with shouts, screams and applause. We care and we show we care. What are we to do when they screw something up? We care about them just as much and ignoring their failure should not be part of this equation. Not caring is worse, much worse, than disapproving. We have to let them know that we who depend on them so much are disappointed.
