I came across Big Caption again while running the independent version of Milwaukee UP through a mixtape release. I was happy with the quality of his bars but wanted to hear him over original beats instead of industry standards.

Last year's Miltown Beat Down runner-up Dave "Audiopilot" Miller (formerly Dave Derrilykt) found himself busy for the better part of last year engineering various projects for different artists, and it is only recently that he took the time to release a beat tape that reaches back into his catalog of tracks.

With the Miltown Beat Down over and done for this year, there's still no reason for any of its participants to grow any moss. Mark V. has taken that rolling stone mindset and released a new beat tape for the month of July.

Last week, Uni.Fi Records promised that whether he won or lost, The White Russian would be releasing all of the beats that he had prepared for the 2011 Miltown Beat Down finals - and they did just that over the weekend.

The Miltown Beat Down has arguably become Milwaukee's best known and most reputable hip-hop event through the universal appeal and intrigue people have with hip-hop and electronic production. For six years now the hip-hop scene and the independent music culture in Milwaukee have enjoyed the event, which is now set to have its 2011 finals this Friday at Turner Hall.
