Numerous Milwaukee area high school students earned Gold Certificates for the 2012 AATG National German Exam this past Thursday. The American Association of Teachers of German offers its National German Exam annually.
If you've been watching this site, you've read about proposals by the community and by MPS to move the educational program that currently resides at 68th Street School, which will close at the end of this school year. You've heard what others have said about the proposal before. Now, we asked 81st Street School teacher Joe Brusky what his school thinks of the plan and the current situation.
The offices of Alds. Michael Murphy and Jim Bohl have organized a public meeting Thursday evening at Milwaukee School of Languages, 8400 W. Burleigh St., to discuss a community proposal to merge the early childhood program of 68th Street School into nearby 81st Street School.
On Sept. 1, new principal Nancy Martinez will stand outside Kagel Elementary in Walker's Point to welcome her kids to school. Martinez is one of more than 50 new principals taking over at Milwaukee Public Schools this school year. When MPS superintendent Dr. Gregory Thornton talks of an exciting new era, and a new opportunity for MPS, he's clearly got talented, exuberant folks like Martinez in mind.
Last week, K4 teacher Analisa Wolter opened up her classroom to visitors. Wolter is the first teacher to lead an Italian immersion class at Milwaukee Public Schools' Victory School on the far South Side.
